The function decreased on the y-axis by 2 units. The next number was 1/2 (black). The function decreased on the y-axis by 1/2 a unit. The next number used was -2 (orange). The function increased on the y-axis by 2 units. The last number used was -1/2 (red). The function increased on the y-axis by 1/2 a unit. kf(x) f(x+k) The first function used is 4 (red). The function moved on the x-axis left 4 units. The next function is 1/4 (blue). The function moved left on the x-axis 1/4 of a unit. The next function is -4 (green). The function moved right on the x-axis 4 units. The last function is -1/4. The function moved right on the x-axis 1/4 of a unit. f(kx) The first function used is 3 (orange). The function shrunk in to the y-axis to rise 3 and run 1.The second function is 1/3 (black). The function widened out from the y-axis to rise 1 and run 3.The next function used is -3. Since the function is negative it is reflected upside down. The function narrows in to the y-axis to fall 3 and run 1.The last function used is -1/3. Since the function is negative it is reflected upside down again. The function widens away from the y-axis to fall 1 and run 3. The first function used (black) was 2. The function shrunk into the y-axis to where it rises 2 and runs 1. The function -2 cannot be seen because the same line was formed as function of 2.The next function used (green) was 1/2. The function widened away from the y-axis to where it rises 1 and runs 2.The function -1/2 cannot be seen because it is the same line as the function of 1/2.
