Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Omnivore Vegan Vegetirans Different Diets & The Environment Is not eating meat better for the environment? or not? Commonwealth Couturecommavecouture.wordpress.com A vegan is a person who doesn't eat meat or animal products A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat Being a meat eater is bad for the environment because, it affects the environment by pollution, waste etc.from factory farms. (Haspel,2014) A omnivore is a person who eats meat and vegetables Being vegetarian saves the environment since meat factories pollute a lot more than just growing vegetables. (peta.org & Vidal,2010) But being a vegetarian who eats eggs or other animal products can actually kill more animals than eating meat. (Just killing one bull gets you about 450 pounds (405,000 calories) but to get that many calories from eggs you need to kill at least 20 chickens to get that many calories out of eggs)(Galef,2011) When it comes to eating animal products it's important to know a few things. First, that its pretty much delicious to some people. Also, that you need it in your diet. However, where the meat comes from (factory farms etc.) pollute the earth. Remember, there are benefits and drawbacks to animal products. So you decide is it better to eat animal products then to not at all? Being a vegan saves the environment since by not eating animal made products or meat it stops all animal factory farms and producers (peta.org & Vidal,2010)
