Because of my compartment syndrome in my leg I have not been able to be as active as I normally am. Therefore, after my surgery hopefully I will feel a lot better and will recovery fast so then I can complete my goal of running a 5k. My goal is that two months after I am completely recovered from my surgery I will run a 5k run in 45 minutes or less. Because of my compartment syndrome in my leg I have not been able to be as active as I normally am. Therefore, after my surgery hopefully I will feel a lot better and will recovery fast so then I can complete my goal of running a 5k. After my leg surgery, once I am 100% healed I will train and run a full 5k run in 45 minutes or less.By going to physio therapy and training as much as needed.I will hopefully be able to run the 5k and feel happy and healthy. I plan to run every second day, starting with a short distance then working up to 5k and then working to be able to run it in 45 minutes. I want to be able to do this, two months after I am fully recovered. 5 kilometers is not a lot but after a year and a half I know it will take my body time to get used to it again. Not only will I be running every second day, I will also continue gymnastics and just staying active in general. With continuing to do gymnastics it will help me with my endurance so that I will be able reach my goal. Being able to run a 5k run two months after my surgery is very important to me for many reasons. My injury has extremely restricted me for the past year. I have not been able to be as active as I like and I have barely been able to run at all. It has been a very frustrating experience so being able to run a full 5 kilometer run will almost act as a closing to this whole experience and then I will be able to get back to my normal active life. I want to complete my goal two months after I am completely healed from my surgery. I chose this as I want to make sure I am completely healed so that I do not get hurt again. Also, 5 kilometers is not a lot but I know my body will need some time to start getting used to being active again. By, Cailin Williams
