Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Inside The Earth CRUST*outermost layer*1% of earths mass*continental and oceanic*oxygen, silicon, and aluminum.*the crust of the earth is 5 to 100km think. It is the thinnest layers of the earth MANTLE* between the crust and core* 66% of the earths mass* more magnesium and less aluminum* magma from the mantle flows out* the mantle is much thicker than the crust and contains most of the earths mass. CORE* center* iron and nickel * 33% of the earths mass* inner and outer core.* it's the layer of the earth that extends from below the mantle to the center of the earth. Lithosphere* crust and upper mantle * divided into pieces called tectonic plates Tectonic plates are pieces of the lithosphere that move around on top of the asthenosphere. ASTHENOSPHERE *the asthenosphere is a plastic layer of the mantle on which peices of the listosphere move. The asthenosphere is made of solid rock that flows very slowly. MESOSPHERE* beneath the asthenosphere is the strong, lower part of the mantle. The mesosphere extends from the bottom of the asthenosphere to the earths core. OUTER CORE* the earths core is divided into two parts- the outer core and the inner core. The outer core is the liquid layer of the earths core that lies beneath the mantle and surrounds the inner core. INNER CORE* solid, dance center. It extends from the bottom of the outer core to the earths center. It 6,380 km. beneath the surface. SEISMIC WAVES*when earthquakes happens, vibrations called seismic waves are produced. They travel at different speeds through the earth. Their speeds depends on the density and composition of the material that they pass through.
