Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Human Impact on Earth FCAT Standard 15 SC.7.E.6.6Identify the impact that humans have had on Earth such as deforestation, urbanization, desertification, erosion, air and water quality, and changing the flow of water. Humans have impacted Earth in many ways changing Earth and its resources. Deforestation is the clearing of trees, transforming a forest into cleared land. Humans do this a lot when building new community's and shopping centers. Urbanization is the process in which cities grow. Humans do this to help change societies and increase population. Desertification is the process bywhich fertile land becomes desert. This happens when humans have done inappropriate agriculture onland. Erosion is the process of erodingor being eroded by wind, water, or other natural agents. However, humans cause cause erosion by construction and agriculture. Humans have changed air quality by using machines such as cars that release pollution into the air. They also cut down trees which give off oxygen. Humans have changed water quality by littering in water sources, and using gas powered boats. Which of these animals would be affected the most by deforestation? By change in water flow? Humans have changed the flowof water by building dams, which reduces the amount of freshwater that flows into estuaries. This can cause erosion, and interferewith fish reproduction, shellfishsurvival, and seed distribution.
