He later goes to dinner with his cousin Daisy, her husband Tom—whom he had already met in college—and their friend Jordan Baker who is a professional golfer. After dinner, Nick goes home and sees Gatsby for the first time, standing on a dock reaching for a green light. Nick is taken to lunch with Gatsby and is told of Gatsby’s history. Nick is introduced to Mr. Wolfsheim a man who fixed the World Series. Nick is told about the history between Gatsby and Daisy, and is asked to set up a meeting of tea with the both. Nick is personally invited to one of Gatsby’s famous parties that are known for being over extravagant and quite elaborate. Nick goes and the party is everything people make them out to be, and later on Nick and Jordan sit at a table with Gatsby, who introduces himself after realizing that him and Nick served in the same division during the war. After that, Gatsby has one of his servants pull Jordan aside so he can talk to her alone; she then tells Nick that she has just heard something unbelievable after she is done talking to Gatsby.
