Department of Homeland Security O. Web. How does it prevent terrorism? TSA prevents terrorism because workers of TSA could check travelers bags for any dangerous objects and/or weapons such as guns and bombs. There's also full body scanners that could scan your body to detect suspicious items. Examples - TSA officers found loaded guns and landminesin a checked baggage at Salt Lake International Airport.- TSA officers at LAX discovered a stun gun disguised as a smart phone. Pros Cons -Up to 70% of the weapons passengers try to bring on a plane aren't found onscreeners.-TSA officers could be too rough on passengers.-TSA executive admitsthat not a singleterrorist-related arrest hasbeen made. -Could find dangerous items such as bombs or guns.-It's a high performing counterterrorism organization. 70% Evaluation TSA hasn't completely reached their goals. There are more cons than there are pros, but I believe this program should be kept and modified. I think this because the TSA has made many saves and finding dangerous items in peoples luggage's. I think of the TSA as if it's extra security.
