Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Social Injustices Canada Discrimination: I believe that the most significant social injustice affecting Canadians is discrimination. Discrimination is an decision or action that treats a person or a group negatively based on their religion, race, age, disability and more. Throughout the Canada we are trying our best to get rid of discrimination but it's still alive and well. It may not be as bad as it was a long time ago but it's still pretty bad. Discrimination can occur anywhere and to anyone. One example of discrimination is being told to go home because you look like youre not from Canada even though youve been living here your whole life. Also being told you cant do something because youre too young or too old or because youre physically or mentally disabled. As Canadians we should not discriminate against these things. Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking were both disabled either mentally or physically but today we don't not think of them as that but instead we think of them as 2 of the many greatest scientists ever. We don't realize that the elderly were the CEOs, scientists, doctors and the geniuses of the past if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be around, we don't see that the young are our future. Their the future scientists, doctors, CEOs, and geniuses and that without them no one would carry on our legacies and we would be forgotten. Not all the disabled, young, and old are useless, not all muslims are terrorists, not all asians are bad drivers, women are not weaker than men. We need to stop discriminating against people for things that may or may not be true. We cant get rid of discrimination but we can at least try by taking a minute to actually learn about someone we can know more about them and finally get rid of most discrimination in Canada.
