Online social networking websites are interactivesites where people can post profiles, make friends, postphotos and videos, and communicate with each other. Some people believe they are amazing and beneficial while others are worried about the impact they have on peoples lives. Lots of people all over the world use social networking for both work and pleasure. -dont always protect personal information-identity theft-cyberbullying: people feel more confident to hurt someone if they are behind a screen. The bully cant be stopped unless they are reported but the victim may feel to intimidated to do so.-online predators-addictive: people can go on a site to check one thing but then end up looking at many things which wastes their day and leads to an unfulfilled life. Issues: -increase interaction with friends and family: Its easier to stay in touch especially if they live far away. -offer teachers and students educational support-express yourself: show off song lyrics or positive pictures. Its a lot harder to feel embarrassed over the internet than it is in person. -disseminate useful information rapidly-You can share your feelings and mental stresses, also is a good way to entertain yourself after a long day. Pros: Students that used social networking sites while studying scored 20% lower on tests than students that didnt.
