Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Sickle Cell Anemia By Tyson Taras Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited disorder that effects red blood cells. People with this disease have red blood cells that contain mostly hemoglobin S* which is an abnormal form of hemoglobin. Sometimes the blood cells become sickle shaped and have trouble passing through blood cells. This means that blood cannot go to other parts of the body. Tissue that doesn't get normal blood flow gets damaged. There are many types of Sickle Sell Disease but the most common are Sickle Cell Anemia (SS), Sickle-Hemoglobin C Disease (SC), Sickle Beta-Plus Thalassemia, and Sickle Beta-Zero Thalassemia. Hemoglobin is the mainsubstance in red blood cells. Hemoglobin helps blood send oxygen from the lungs around the body. Sickle cell diseases are inherited similar to physical traits like blood type, eye color, and hair color. Unfortuneatlythere is no cure for Sickle Cell Anemia. http://www.newsworks.org/index.php/local/healthscience/7202 4-chop-researchers-make-progress-on-sickle-cell-disease-trea tment http://www.faqs.org/health/Sick-V4/Sickle-Cell-Anemia-Description. html https://biochemist01.wordpress.com/tag/sickle-cell-anemi a/ ingrace.org/images/humvar/sickle_noflash.jpg http://www.biologycorner.com/resources/sickle_cells_with_punnett.j pg http://carace.wikispaces.com/file/view/sickle_cell_diseases.jpg/101588599/sickle_cell_dise ases.jpg http://www.sw.org/misc/health/images/%7B09BF412F-2310-43FF-82BB-BB14AE4D6B31%7D .JPG http://www.sicklecelldisease.org/index.cfm?page=about-s cd http://photos2.demandstudios.com/DM-Resize/photos.demandstudios.com/getty/article/74/32/78160034_XS.j pg?h=468&w=646&keep_ratio=1
