But did you know that Martin couldn't stand alone?He needed help so he called on a few heroes or side kicks for that matter.... On January 10th 1957 Martin Luther king called several ministers and leaders to Ebenzer Church. Later becoming and forming the SLC and making Martin Luther King their president. Their goal was to form an organization to coordinate and support nonviolent direct action as a method of desegregating bus systems across the South After Martin Luther King became president ofthe SCLC, they were able to expand its focus beyond busses to ending all forms of segregation Like many activist groups t the time, The SCLC hada difficult time finding waysto have churches participateand have more protestors For the churches and people who actually were braveenough to involve themselvesin the movement, they risked being attacked by police,White Citizens' Council and the Ku Klux Klan. Not onlythat but they also faced the risk of economic retaliation against pastors and other church leaders, arson, and bombings Although they faced many threats and participating trouble from citizens they were able to strive on and.........
