Can I get it? It's not even a dollar! When the penny is gone, we couldn't have ninety-nine cents, so the manufacturers will lower the prices to 95 cents. You can even save money on tax! Charity Causes! Whenever a charity has someone dressed as Santa to collect money, the warm-ish hearted give some pennies. Those pennies take a long time to collect! But, is the penny really worth keeping? Cheaper prices! Waste of Materials! Now, pennies are made of mostly zinc. Around 1847, the penny was made of bronze. 30 million pennies are made a day. That's 10,920 a year! So, when we are making that many 1¢ pennies, are we really putting those materials to good use? $
