Thisbranch is headed by the Ohio Supreme Courtwhich one Chief Justice and Six AssociateJustices are a part of. There are several other levels of elected judiciary in the Ohio Court System1: State Court of Acclaims that has all jurisdictionover all civil actions against the State of Ohio. 2: State Court of Appeals which is the intermediateappellate courts. 3: Country Courts of Common Pleas: There are 88 countycommon pleas courts. 4: Municiple Courts and County Courts: These courts handlesmall claims. Governor of Ohio: John Kasich This is the Ohio Supreme Court These are the Supreme Justices of Ohio The people that have the executive power in Ohio are the Governor, Secretary of state, Auditor of state Treasurer of state, and Attorney general. There are six officialselected state wide; John Kasich (Governor), Mary Taylor (LieutenantGovernor), Mike DeWine (Attorney General), John Husted (Secretaryof State), Dave Yost (State Auditor), Josh Mandel (State Treasurer). Federalsim: There are three branches; Executive, Judicial, and Legislative.2.) Seperation of Powers: Ohio has three different branches of government.3.)Limited Government: Ohio's branches of Governments have a limited powerand can only do so much.4.)Checks and Balances: This is important because it makes it so that if one branchof government can make sure that another branch isn't "abusing" their power.5.)Popular Sorveighty: This is when people can vote on a political leader during an election. PEEL Ohio's Government can balance our freedoms with order by having laws. For example, a person has the freedom to own a gun but they are breaking the law if they shoot it in public. Also, a person has the freedom to drive but there are laws in place such as the speed limit and being sixteen to obtain a driver license. Thomas Dupler The Legislative branch is made up of of two houses; those houses are the Senate and House ofRepresentatives. There are 99 members in the House of Representatives; those representatives serve two year terms. There are 33 senate districts that make up Three House Districts. The Speaker of the House is the head of the House of Representatives. Clifford Rosenberger (current Speaker of the House in Ohio) is the third most powerful elected official. He is in charge of deciding which bills get votes and what those bills look like. Keith Faber is the 94th President of the Ohio senate and is also State Senator of the12th district. Faber removed problem rulesand cut income taxes by 10% to make Ohio a better place.
