Forces only exist as a result of an interaction." Unbalanced forces are forces that cause a change in the motion of an object. Pull (someone or something) along forcefully, roughly or with difficulty. "An object at rest stays at rest, an object in motion, stays in motion" A real life example of Newton's first law is if a kicker were to potentially kick a soccer ball then releases its kinetic energy and kick the soccer ball into the goal. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" If a ball were to hit the floor it would have a equal and opposite reaction to it, when the ball hits the floor it will release a bit of energy and bounce back up. I would not change anything to the straw rocket I would add actual gliders to the straw rocket and wood for more weight and peppers for it to glide better to go further. The fins effected the straw rockets distance because the fins provided lift in the straw rocket there for it will give the straw rocket more distance. The weight of the clay effects the straw rocket because the clay provides mass and the mass helps it stay in the air and not just fall if the were no clay in the straw rocket. The length of the straw effected the distance it traveled by the length it means how tall it is that effects the straw rocket by getting more distance it will go further because length provides lift depending on how much mass the straw has. The motion in a object effects by the mass it contains because mass has weight in it, so the more mass in a object more the motion will start to slow down. The motion of an object gets effected by forces because if you were to throw a ball and catch a mid between the air it will stop the motion. If the mass is to big it will be difficult to move it but if the mass is small it will be easier to move the object.
