Positive thinking and confidence in ourselves helps us focus and do better on tasks. 3. Fixed mindsets (I can't do it, I don't know how to) vs. Growth mindsets (I can learn how to do it). Growth mindsets are key to success. 1. Ask students to use this exercises whenever they encounter challenges.2. Ask them to interview 3 people about a significant challenge they had to overcome and how they did that successfully. 1. Choose a children's movie with both positive and negative events and ask your students to watch it before class. 2. In groups, ask them to identify the sad parts of the movie (what Eeyore would notice) and then positive parts of the movie (what Tigger would notice). 3. Ask what they noticed and encourage a balance of the positive and the negative.
