Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 I am Malala By Malala Yousafzai with Patrica McCormick Summary The autobiography "I am Malala" by Malala Yousfzai withPatrica McCormick illustrates a girls fight againstterrorism and for girls eduction in Pakistan. Malala beginsthe book describing her day-to-day life, without worries aboutthe terrorists, in her area of Pakistan(Swat Valley). Thendisaster strikes; an earthquake shakes her world, even more thanshe realized at the time. But because of that earthquake, Fazullah,a Taliban Leader, would be able to instill fear the Swat people that they did not follow Islmic Law(the very strict one-Sharia) and God was punishing them. Some of the normal activities Fazullah prohibited were watching movies, women leaving the house withouta male guardian, and girls attending school. Malala saw this as anobstruction of her rights, especially when the Taliban took over Swatand closed all the girls schools down. She fought for her basic rightsin the face of extremist violence, and paid the price. On October 9th, 2012Malala was shot by the Taliban on her way home from school, after many threats to her father. Birmingham, England; where Malala was taken for a life saving surgery after the attack and she lives to this day."One child, one book, and one pen can change the world" is the quote finishes Malala's UN address and nearly the book, which I think perfectly describes her message and life goals. "So, yes the Talibanhave sho0t me. But they can only shot abody. They cannot shot my dreams, they cannot kill my beliefs, and they cannot stop my campaign to see every boy and girl in school."
