The mouth is the entering part of the food. As you break down food into salivary you swallow it as it goes down the esophagus the tube in which your food travels. It gets digested in the stomach and broken down and more digestion in the small and large intestine. The organs highlighted in blue are the secondary organs of the digestive system. The liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. The livers function is to digest using the chemical bile, this also helps to break up large fat particals. The pancreas function is to control the bodies sugar. And the last secondary organ is the gallbladders. The gallbladders function is to release unneeded needed bile. Mechanical digestion is when food is broken down physically.
