The Danger of Cocaine and how it can affect you Cocaine has been a very populat illegal drug in our time in which about 14% of the US adult population have tried cocaine at least once. This drug has been widely know to be very dangerous and here is why.Many people have fallen to a place where they can never come back from their terrible mistake in their lives. Cocaine has a lot of deadly short and long term affects on the body and mind. Short Term: -Loss of appetite-Increased heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature-Contracted blood vessels-Increased rate of breathing-Dilated pupils-Disturbed sleep patterns-Nausea-Hyperstimulation-Very violent behavior-Hallucinations, hyperexcitability, irritability-Tactile hallucination that creates the illusion of bugs underneath the skin-Intense euphoria-Anxiety and paranoia-Depression-Intense drug craving-Panic and psychosis-Convulsions, seizures and sudden death from high doses even when you have only taken it one time Long Term:-Permanent damage to blood vessels of heart and brain -High blood pressure, leading to heart attacks, strokes, and death-Liver, kidney and lung damage-Destruction of tissues in nose if sniffed-Respiratory failure if smoked-Infectious diseases and abscesses if injected-Malnutrition, weight loss-Severe tooth decay-Auditory and tactile hallucinations-Sexual problems, reproductive damage and infertility (for both men and women)-Disorientation, apathy, confused exhaustion-Irritability and mood disturbances-Increased frequency of risky behavior-Delirium or psychosis-Severe depression-Tolerance and addiction (even after just one use) The brain reacts to cocaine with high leveled dophamine constantly active making the user crave for more. As the user takes more and more the brain starts adapting and more tolerant to the drug.The user will then take higher more dangerous doses. This can lead to increased irritability, restlessness, panic attacks, and paranoiaeven a full-blown psychosis, in where the user loses touch with reality and experiences auditory hallucinations.
