Ninety-five years later african americans were still marching for their rights to vote. 1890s a new law was passed to separate blacks and whites from going to the same places like schools and restaurants. It also prevented blacks and whites from using the same public restrooms. August10, 1965 - congress passes the Voting Rights Act of 1965 By the end of march 22,1966 almost 4,000 black people had registered to vote.
