Childhood Goerge Washington Carver was born on July 12, 1864.He was born a slave in Moses Carver'splantation, and George's father had diedin a log rolling accident. The farm had beenraided many times, and one of the times, thebandits took George, his brother, and hismom. His mom wasn't found and someonereturned George and his brother to MosesCarver's Farm. The Carver's figured out thatGeorge was fairly smart and sent him to school.His teachers found him smart too, and eventually hewas one of the only blacks in some schools. George Washington Carver Adult Life One of his teachers found out thatGeorge was very good with plants,so George went to an agricultural school, and from there, he wenton to be head of the agriculturalschool's experiment department.This is where he came up with many uses for the peanut and other not very used plants. He died on January 05, 1043 by anemia. Acheivments He was theonly black at Simpsons college He was the onlyblack in Iowa State collegeof Agriculture. He developed 287uses for the peanut.
