On January 21st, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program gave a presentation about their wildlife rehabilitation work. They even brought live birds! We got to see an American Kestrel, a Swainsons Hawk and a Barn Owl. Seeing these magnificent birds first hand was a truly amazing experience! The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program is always accepting new volunteers, check out their website for more information: http://www.rmrp.org/ Next week the students will be finalizing their experimental designs, and soon they will start collecting data. This is when the real work in the program starts, so its important to stay motivated! Luckily, weve got a great group of students this year who are all working really hard.On February 7th, we will be taking a field trip to Rocky Mountain National Park to go snowshoeing with the education rangers from the park. They will lead us on a snowshoe hike and teach us about winter ecology. Students and mentors are strongly encouraged to attend this awesome field trip. Parents are invited to attend as chaperones.
