The battle began in November 18, 1803 and ended in October, less than two months. Because of the battle, not only did Haiti gain independence later but it signified the end of a long freedom struggle that was much needed. 5 years ago, January 12, 2010 Haiti got affected by a big earthquake, a 7.0. The earthquake caused 220,000 deaths and 300,00 injured as well as rubble. With donations of about 13.5 Billion from around the world Haiti was able to rebuild there buildings and homes, Although things are improved Haiti is still how it was way before the earthquake and that;s in Political turmoil. From personal experience there are still some parts that raises the brow of, what was that money really used for, but others are beautiful. Today from researching, I've found that 16 people died form a carnival crashing and over 70 were injured,Haiti sadly, seems to be facing problems right now.
