A varied, international viewpoint, the result of diligent work in 3 major global cities. I just want to do what I love, and that's to March: Weekend trip to the Blue Mountains. Hiked a trail of death and went rock climbing. Traipsed aroundnational parks. Sabina-Elease,post producer extraordinaire, here.Allow me to introduce myself. The rest of the semester was spent getting well acquainted with Sydney. Personal favorites were always the ferryto Manly, and the Bondi to Coogee walk. And eating at Pancakes on the Rocks more times than I can count. I visited some friends living in London and then we drove around the country. Highlights included a gondola ridein Cambridge, puttering around Bristol, visiting Stonehenge and seeing the majestic cathedral in Salisbury. March: Day trip to Oxford. Got smarter simply by walking around the University. May: Ten-day trip to Paris, Brussels & Amsterdam. The Louvre at night is spectacular. The Mannekin-Pis ishysterical, and also tiny. Biking in Amsterdam should be considered for the next summer Olympics. Floatingaround the never-ending canals is sublime. July: Weekend trip to Newcastle & Cardiff. This was the year London hosted the Olympics. No way to pass up anopportunity to see two football games! November: Three days in Barrow-in-Furness. Hiked in the Lake District, and saw sheep crossing an ivy-encasedstone bridge. December: Three days in Brighton over Christmas. Played at the Pier and found the most dangerously-hot wings at a pub. April: Weekend trip to visit some of the beaches and bays south of Wollongong. Hyams Beach was my favorite becausethe sand squeaks when you walk on it! September: Two week holiday to NZ. Flew to Auckland, then to Christchurch. Drove to Queensland. Went luging.Attempted to go parasailing. Thwarted by wind. Drove to Dunedin and saw penguins. The rest of the semester was spent getting well acquainted with Sydney. I spent weekends padding around Sydney Harbour, and ate more times at Pancakes on the Rocks than would be wise to relate. We took the ferry to Manly Beach whenever we could, because there's nothing quite like witnessing the Opera House framed by the Harbour Bridge at sunset. We spent a lot of time in Newtown, the bastion of hipsterdom in NSW. I did the Coogee to Bondi walk. Coogee holds a special place in my heart. December: Eight-day drive up the Eastern Coast over Christmas and New Year's. We saw the Big Banana at CoffsHarbour, ate healthily in Byron Bay, strolled through Nimbin and kicked up our heels in Surfer's Paradise. February 2006 - July 2006: Study Abroad in Sydney, Australia So, where in the world has Sabina-Elease been? February: Weekend trip to Noosa & Fraser Island in Queensland. Took a surf lesson and stood up on my board for 5 seconds. Overwhelmed by my success, I promptly fell over. June 2011: Two weeks vacation in the UK February 2012 - February 2013: Lived in London, UK February 2013 - February 2014: Lived in Sydney, Australia Australia is hands-down my favorite place. It's partly because the country is devastatingly beautiful. It's partlybecause the people are among the most kind and welcoming I've ever encountered. It's mostly because of thevalue system they emanate, a thoroughly unique blend of resourcefulness and dedication for the serious stuff, that is immediately tempered by the understanding that you can't be your best unless you're healthy, physicallyand mentally. They truly have the work / life balance down pat, which probably accounts for all the smiles.
