Global Average Temperture The global average temperature is about 12 degress celcious. The yearly growth rate is 0.87 degrees celcious. Signs of global warming include, higher ocean levels, melting ice caps and glaciers, droughts and floods. When ocean water rises more heat reflects back into the atmosphere. Which makes our world warmer still. The loss of ice caps and glaciers make it harder for people to get fresh water. The global temperature has gotten warmer each year, however since the industrial revolution it has really spiked. The main cause of global warming are carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases from human activites. Carbon Dioxide Emissions due to Humans Carbon Dioxide accounted for all of U.S. greenhouse gas emission from human activities. Humans alter the carbon cycle by adding more CO2 to the atmosphere and by cutting down trees which act as natural air cleansers. Humans cut down an average of 6 billion trees a year. This makes our earth much warmer, leading to melting glaciers and other effects of global warming. Since 1970 CO2 emissions have increased by 90%. Carbon Dioxide Levels The earth is already heating up due to carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases levels increasing. The average levels of carbon dioxide has risen drastically since the 1970s. Greenhouse gases are good but only in moderation. If we're not careful then our planet will overheat and we could all die. These topics all connect. The global average temperature rises with the carbon dioxide levels. We as humans make this carbon content rise by burning fossil fuels, cutting down our source of cleaning the air and rasing cattle. One little act causes a huge chain reaction that continues. When we raise the carbon dioxide levels our global temperture increases causing not only warmer tempertures but also much destruction
