MalcolmX was also an orphan because his father was killed when he was six and his mother was placed in a mental hospital Malcolm X did not have a great education as a child. However, he didexcel in junior high. Malcolm X endedup dropping out of highschool after a white teacher told him that practicing law, his aspiration at the time, was "no realistic goal for a nigger". Three unique things about MalcolmX are; he was Muslim. His original name was Malcolm Little, which he soon droppedbecause it signified slavery. He was attacked by the KKK when he was young,which most likely inspired his violentways. The goals of Malcolm X were tospread awareness of the discriminationshown toward African Americans. He did so in very aggressive and violent ways. He hoped, by doing this, he would gainrights for the African American Population. CHILDHOOD Martin Luther King's Childhoodwas very pleasant. His fatherwas a baptist preacher and his mother was an organist for the choir, so hespent a lot of time around church. Ata very young age, King learnedthe principles of peace and love. Martin Luther attended a public school in Atlanta.He continued his education at Morehouse College, graduating in 1948. CHILDHOOD Three interesting facts about MartinLuther King are; His name was originally Michael, but he dropped it because that was his father'sname also. He is African American,which is why he participated in thecivil rights movement. At the age of 12 he tried to commit suicide due toall of the racial remarks he was recieving. The goals of Martin Luther King Jr. were tospread awareness of the discriminationshown toward African Americans. His main goal was to do this in a peacefulway. Legacy Legacy Martin Luther King Jr. made a huge impact for the Civil Rights Movement.Because of him, many positive changeswere brought about for African Americans. Malcolm X has been described as one ofthe greatest and most influential African Americans in history. He is largely responsiblefor the spread of Islam to the African Americansociety. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that . Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." In this quote Martin Luther is saying that onlypeace and love can drive out hate. This quote is a good example of what King based his actionson. "I don't even call it violence when it's in self defense; I call it intelligence."
