Modified products canprotect small farmers fromlosing crops to pestand adverse weather. A majority of modified crops are owned by large corporations,damaging smaller farms. Because GMO crops are resistant to pest,less pesticides are used. The use of GM crops could create "super-pest" or pesticideresistant bugs orviruses. ENVIROMENT FARMERS HEALTH REGULATION AND FEAR The TED talk from Borut Bohanec covers the nature ofGMO regulation, study, public fear, and regulation. CONCLUSION Just like any tool, GMO's have the ability to vastly improve the humanexistance as a species. However, as with all technological advances,GMO's cause fear because they may potentially be used incorrectlyand cause damage to ourselves, society, or the economy.The possible future pros give enough reason to continue the studyand use of GMO's, but the cons give enough concern to proceed methodically and with caution.
