Acadians were forced away from their houses by British militants and they had two choices either to stay but be in control by Britain or be sent out of Canada. Everything was burned down after. This is a very hard decisionbecause they would have to abandon whatthey have done on the land like their houses and farms or stay but that could create anuneasy balance because it would seem like they are traitorsand they would have to adapt to a new religion. This is a major part of how Canada came to be.This is also known as the SEVEN YEAR WAR. The French were leading in the war as they have defeated many British attacks and captured some British forts. However when the Britishcaptured Louisbourg they took advantage and took Quebec and Montreal as well. During this war two very important leaders died,General James Wolfe from the British and Louis-Joseph de Montcalmfrom France. This is when the Acadian's weredeported away from Canada to England and France, but some managed to escape to new France and others wereprotected by the Mik'maq. 1755-1763 THE GREAT DEPORTATION Death of General James Wolfe, 1759 The Battle of the Plains of Abraham The Acadian's who stayed didn't accept the Oath of Allegiance because it states that they would fight for Britain against Franceso they were deported off of their land so the British took the land and used it for themselves Eleven thousand Acadian's were captured and shippedoff and this affected their relations with the Miq'maq and their friends.
