George Washington was impacted A militia is a military force that is raised from the civil population. Washington wanted to get to the British but he couldnt get there without the crossing of the Delaware River. George Washington was going to cross the Delaware River three times. Each point he stopped at he would drop off some troops. The consequences are they have to fight the frost bite and how cold it is. It was freezing in Trenton so that is why he planned to go in the winter Colonel John Cadwalader and General James Ewing couldnt finish their plans. Hessians men were too exhausted and wasnt ready to fight Washington. George Washington attacked the Hessians on Christmas day, while the Hessians were drunk and tired. George Washington and his troops captured the Hessians. They won the battle with very few casualties. The outcome of the event was good. Hessians men surrender after he got shot.
