Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 His Life + Contribution To Chemistry Dmitri Mendeleev1834-1907 His Contribution and Organization Of The Periodic Table Dmitri Mendeleev was born at Tobolsk, Siberia in 1834-1907. Mendeleev studied at the University of St. Petersburg. He won an award to go to Western Europe to pursue chemical research, before that he was both a teacher and a chemist. Mendeleev published a book in Principles of Chemistry in 1869. He is best known for his work on the periodic table, arranging the 63 known elements into a Periodic Table based on atomic mass. His first Periodic Table was gathered on the basis of arranging the elements in ascending order of atomic weight and grouping them by similarity of properties. Mandeleev was the firstindividual who discovered the first building blocks to chemical and physical theory. Even though his periodic table had some errors, He is still considered as the father of the periodic table. Mandeleev discovered how the element are related to each other, he also believed that there would be more elements to be discovered to fill in the empty spaces in his periodic table. Interesting Facts Importance To Chemistry In this course we have learned about the periodic table and how it it set up. Mendeleev and his organization of the periodic table was a big contribution to the world of chemistry. Because of him we now have a periodic table that is set up in a away in which we can see the similarities and the differences between elements and their properties. Dmitri Mendeleev was very important to the world of chemistry. He classified the elements according to their chemical properties, he envisioned a table in which he believed that more elementthat were to be discovered. Mendeleev discovered the first building blocks to defining the elements and their properties. Because of his contribution, we now have a completed periodic table that define each element by theirchemical properties, electronegativity, atomic weight, and much more. The periodic table is widely known especially to the world of chemistry. Key aspects that I have learned about the periodic table is that the atomic weight increases as you go from left to right. I found many interesting aspects about the periodic table, such as, you expect the size of the element to go up as you move from left to right, but its the opposite.
