The articles were flawed because they kept the states too free, letting them tax and make industry independantly The articles could have been improved by creating a higher power, and focusing the states together to create that power. This document has underlying themes that show that the states still retain their independence. The articles were created for need of a wartime government. This is important because order is needed in times of crisis. The Colonists were concerned about taxes and a large central government, since they would be less focused on winning the war in this scenario.
